The Far-Death Experience (FADE)

The Near-Death Experience (NDE) has been extensively studied since 1975 after Dr Raymond Moody coined NDE. More recent studies like those by Dr Melvin Morse and Dr Kenneth Ring showed conclusively with scientific proof that there is indeed a spiritual dimension beyond what our physical eyes can see...

Here, I would not talk more about NDE since you can easily google NDE. Instead, I would like to talk about NDE's opposite: the FAr-Death Experience (FADE).

NDE may be life-changing but only a small privileged group experienced it - the vast majority of us only know FADE, which I define as "day-to-day living without the slightest hint that one will die soon."

I believe FADE can be life-changing too if we understand it well in concrete terms - here're the 3 key characteristics of FADE:
  • Assumed Immortality: we live as if life will go on forever, eg. we accumulate wealth insatiably, ruin our wealth with excessive eating, smoking, drinking etc.
  • Prolonged Procrastination: we put off doing things that really matter to us/others, eg. fulfilling our dreams, reconciling with loved ones, showing our love, helping the underprivileged etc.
  • Short-term Orientation: we constantly live for the moment only without pausing to think about the long-term meaning of what we're doing, eg. working hard in our jobs, paying our bills, enjoying television etc.
Therefore, if we don't take time to think about FADE, our lives may just unknowingly fade away without reaching their full potential...

Today is the 100th-day death anniversary of my Dad, Vincent Woon . I'm close to my Dad. Conversion Story of a Meat-Eater

I was a die-hard meat-eater , specifically a chicken-eater . Hence, it was beyond my wildest dreams that after more than 30 years of eating meat , I would become a Flexitarian . I have known vegetarianism for a long time, from 3 main perspectives: environment, religion & health.
